Orphanage Trip

Today was a packed day...orphanage trip in the moning and zoo in the afternoon! We made the 30 minute drive to the Foshan City SWI with the Lutz family.  While there we were able to tour and see the room the boys were in! In fact, they were in adjoining cribs! The facility was bright and clean, with lots of stimulation for the kids. We were able to see some older children and several baby rooms. What an experience! You can tell the nanny's really love the children, as they scooped up the boys and both kids just grinned! However, when it was time to leave, Asher came RIGHT TO HIS MAMA!! Yea!!!!

Overall we were so glad we were able to make the trip there. What a precious piece of Asher's story to tell him one day. Although he may be very behind and very tiny, I really believe he was loved. And at the end of the day, that's most important to me. I also need to say that I don't think I have ever felt so guilty leaving that place with just one child. NO CHILD should have to live somewhere like that, even if it is "good" by orphanage standards. There ought to be people lined up outside the doors of those places, just waiting to bring children home. Something about me will never be the same after some of the things I experienced there. I do know this, Asher's crib had his name on it, and I have never been so thrilled to see it EMPTY!!!

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back from captivity. "Jeremiah 29:11-14

  6. God is good! I'm sure it was a comfort to Asher to see a familiar face and a joy to you when he left in his Mama's arms! It's just a few more days until your family is reunited.
