Overall we were so glad we were able to make the trip there. What a precious piece of Asher's story to tell him one day. Although he may be very behind and very tiny, I really believe he was loved. And at the end of the day, that's most important to me. I also need to say that I don't think I have ever felt so guilty leaving that place with just one child. NO CHILD should have to live somewhere like that, even if it is "good" by orphanage standards. There ought to be people lined up outside the doors of those places, just waiting to bring children home. Something about me will never be the same after some of the things I experienced there. I do know this, Asher's crib had his name on it, and I have never been so thrilled to see it EMPTY!!!
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back from captivity. "Jeremiah 29:11-14
Amen! I am so glad it went well. I was praying for an overall good experience.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad we are going to have these stories and pictures to share with them one day. I know it will mean so much!
Prayers answered again! God is so faithful to open our eyes to His goodness when we're willing to see. So thrilled that you found the positive experience that you did. It will mean the world to Asher one day.

We love you guys and you are all in our prayers.
ReplyDeleteGod is good! I'm sure it was a comfort to Asher to see a familiar face and a joy to you when he left in his Mama's arms! It's just a few more days until your family is reunited.
