Our Asher man has started therapy so he can learn how to eat big boy food!! For the two years he was in the orphanage, he was never given solid food. Ever.
He came to us totally on a (watered down) bottle. However, in just three months, he's come a loooong way! We are currently in therapy once a week, and he's started chewing and biting! (in fact, last Friday, he shredded his bandages on his hand with his teeth...didn't know whether to say, "yea!!" or "no, sir!")
He will willingly eat Gerber puffs, stage 3 baby foods, and a few other soft foods like pudding or ice cream. He's still on the bottle 4 times a day, but we're working on a sippy cup. We love his therapist and have seen such an improvement over the last 4 weeks since we began. It's going to be a long road, but we've gotten a wonderful start! In therapy, he is encouraged to mimic our mouths....here's a sample.....*
